Misty Cole
Head Coach 12
Elite
Joining the Victory staff in 2003, Misty is
enjoying her fifth season with the club.
She has coached the 12, 13(twice), and 17
age divisions in the past and will return to
head coach the 12 Elite team for the 07-08
club season.
Misty was born and raised in Abilene, Texas
where she attended Cooper High School. She
played volleyball, basketball, softball, and
participated on the track team before her
1994 graduation. She then attended Southern
Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and
played on the club volleyball team for two
seasons. She was co-captain and served as
treasurer.
After graduating in 1998 she began her
teaching and coaching career at Lake Dallas
High School. Misty coached the junior
varsity team and assisted with the varsity
team. Two years later, Misty moved on to
fulfill her calling in Christian education.
She enjoyed four years coaching the junior
varsity team and assisting with the varsity
team at Carrollton Christian Academy. Misty
now coaches the varsity volleyball team at
Fort Worth Christian School and teaches high
school Spanish I, II, and III.
Misty and her daughter Madelyn, live in
Irving and are members of Oak Cliff Bible
Fellowship Church. Misty loves the
Lord and it is her prayer that the young
women she coaches not only gain in their
volleyball skills, but through her
leadership come to know Christ more
intimately.

Abby Arledge
Assistant Coach 12 Elite
This is Abby Arledge's
second season with
Victory. Prior to joining Victory, she
helped with summer volleyball camps and
provided private lessons.
While at Denton Ryan High School, Abby
started for two years on the varsity team as
the defensive specialist and libero. She was
named team captain for her high school team.
Abby played club volleyball for Take it by
Storm, Denton Juniors, and Core.
Abby graduated in the top 10 percent of her
high school class, and is now in her first
year at Texas Woman's University, where she
is majoring in kinesiology. She is a red
shirt on the volleyball team. A member of
the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Abby
enjoys listening to music, watching movies,
and eating ice cream.
Her favorite verse is:
"Therefore since we are surrounded by such a
great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off
everything that hinders and the sin that so
easily entangles, and let us run with
perseverance the race marked out for us. Let
us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and
perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set

Kimberly Snider
Head Coach 12 Local
East
Assistant Coach 15 Elite
Kim Snider recently graduated from Towson
University, in Towson Maryland, where she
played setter for four years at a division
one volleyball program. She is currently
assisting at Lovejoy High School,
while obtaining her teaching certificate.
Kim attended Hebron High School, in
Carrollton Texas and lettered in volleyball
where she earned district most valuable
player. She played for various clubs here in
the metroplex, including Victory in it’s
inaugural year. Kim went on to play at
Towson University where in 2004 the team won
the Colonial Athletic Conference.
In 2005, Kim was selected second team
all conference as well as first team all
tournament.
During the 2005 season, she set the
school record in assists.
In 2006, Kim was chosen captain at
Towson, while once again earning second team
all conference. During her career, Kim
recorded 37 double doubles and was selected
CAA player of the week three times.
Kim is happy to be back
in Texas and eager to start her coaching
career. |

Postema
Head Coach 12 Local
West
Cory Postema is entering
her 9th season with Victory.
She has coached 14s, 15s,
and 16s age divisions. She has also served
as the Victory Tryout Coordinator, and run
the Victory Academy Program. Cory is
currently the Varsity Head Volleyball Coach
at Faith Christian school in Grapevine. Cory
has over 11 years of Varsity coaching
experience that includes 9 playoff
appearances, Metrocrest and TAPPS coach of
the year awards.
Cory graduated from
Newman Smith High School and the University
of North Texas. She is married with two
children and still enjoys getting on the
court and play volleyball.

Karen Wright

Head Coach 14 Select
Karen Wright is in her sixth season with
Victory. She has served as head coach of
both elite and select teams in the 13's and
14's age divisions and assisted with 12's
and 17's. Currently Karen is the head
varsity volleyball coach at Trinity
Christian Academy. She was named TAPPS 1-6A
Coach of the Year for the 2005 season.
Karen attended Richardson High School, where
she was the setter on the varsity volleyball
team for three years. She received
All-District honors in both her junior and
senior year. She also won best setter and
best server awards.
After graduating from Richardson High
School, Karen received a volleyball
scholarship to Ouachita Baptist University
(Division II Lone Star Conference), where
she was a setter and defensive specialist.
Karen received awards for Christian
leadership during her junior and senior
years, and she also received the Jerry
Forehand Award in her final year. During her
last semester in college, she also competed
on the swim team as a diver.
Karen graduated in May 2001 with a degree in
graphic design and a minor in physical
education. After graduation, Karen married
Ben Wright, whom she had met at Ouachita
Baptist during her freshman year. Karen
teaches physical education at Trinity
Christian Academy. She also is a freelance
graphic design artist. |

Corinne (Sherard) Atchison
Head Coach 13 Elite
Co-Director
Corinne (Sherard)
Atchison
is excited to be coaching the 13 Elite Team
for the upcoming season. She will be
starting her 8th season with Victory. She
has been head coach for the 12's, 13's, and
14’s age divisions and has also assisted
with the 18's and 15's. This past season,
she also became the Club Administrator for
Victory.
Corinne has qualified 6 teams in the past 7 years to the Junior
Olympic Volleyball Championships as Head Coach, and this past
year, she also assisted with the 15’s, who qualified as well.
Her teams have also won 2 National Qualifier events in the past
three years. She has over 15 tournament wins and has placed in
the Top 4 of the North Texas Region every year. She helped out
with the NTR High Performance Camp and also coached at the
College Prep Camp at
Texas
Christian
University
this summer.
Corinne played for
J.J.
Pearce High
School, where she received First
Team All-District and Second Team All-City honors for two
consecutive years. She also received the Team MVP award for
those same two years and set a school record of number of aces
in a season. After graduating from high school in 1998, Corinne
attended
Hardin-Simmons
University and immediately
became the starting setter. She ranked sixth in the conference
for number of assists. Corinne left Hardin-Simmons after her
freshman year and has coached for
Prestonwood Christian Academy,
Trinity
Christian
Academy, and Bishop Lynch
High School.
Corinne now resides in
Plano,
Texas and has been married to
Brant Atchison for two years. They attend
Heights
Baptist Church
in Richardson.
She loves to shop, work out, and play beach volleyball. Corinne
will be helping out with the TCU Volleyball Program this year
and will also be finishing up her degree in Business.

Michele
Villareal
Assistant Coach 13 Elite
This is Michele Villarreal's second year
coaching with Victory, last year she
assisted Corinne Atchison with the 14 Elite
team.
She recently coached a 12 and under
team for Factory of Champions in
San Antonio, and participated in
a varsity camp at
San Antonio
John Jay High School.
She has also provided private lessons.
She started for two years as the defensive specialist on the
varsity team at San Antonio Sandra Day O'Connor High. While
playing for her high school team, she was named team captain,
was a unanimous 5-A All district award winner, ranked in the top
10 in the city for digs, and was the team MVP.
She was part of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha
Theta math club, and the English Honor Society during high
school as well. Michele
has played for two seasons on the Texas Woman's University
volleyball team as a defensive player.
At Texas Woman’s University she received defensive player
of the week by the Denton Record Chronicle and achieved the
honor of being on the Commissioners Honor Roll for her academic
achievements. She is
currently attending and playing volleyball at
Dallas
Baptist
University.
Michele is originally from San Antonio,
TX where she attends Oak Hills Church with her family.
She enjoys working out in her spare time, watching
movies, and spending as much time with her family and friends as
she can.

Abby
Martin
Head Coach 13
Select
Abby Martin is beginning her
fifth season
with Victory. Her 12 Select team finished
second in the 2005 North Texas Region
Championships (Club Division). In addition
to acting as head coach of Victory's 12 and
13 Select teams, Abby has been an assistant
coach for Victory's 12 Elite team. She
currently coaches the seventh grade "A" team
at Trinity Christian Academy. Abby loves the
game of volleyball, and wants her players to
develop the same passion for the sport.
Abby began playing sports at a young age,
and immediately found a love for volleyball.
Abby was a four year letterman at Wylie High
School. In 2001, she was named District
14-4A Setter of the Year.
During her freshman year in college, Abby
played volleyball at Collin County Community
College ("CCCC"). When the volleyball
program was dropped at CCCC, Abby followed
her coach to Richland College, where she was
named first team All-Conference and an
All-American.

Calverley

Select
Nikki joined the
Victory staff in 2006, and
assisted her sister, Abby Martin. She has
previously assisted with volleyball summer
camps, and officiated for the Wylie
Volleyball Association.
Nikki is currently a
freshman at
the University of Texas
at Dallas as a setter. In
High School, Nikki was named second team
All District her junior
year. Nikki also played club
volleyball for Express and Club Kahuna.
Nikki looks forward to majoring
in history, and plans to one day become a
history teacher and volleyball coach.
Nikki enjoys reading, watching movies, and
playing sand volleyball with friends.

Lana Mitchell

Head Coach 16 Select
Victory Leadership Team
Entering her seventh season with Victory,
Lana (Campos) Mitchell has been a head coach
of 12 Lovejoy, 13 Elite, 15 National, 16
National, 18 HIT, assisted 16 National, and
been a roamer coach. She has also coached in
the North Texas Region High Performance
program. In addition to Victory, Lana
coached one season for Team PSA.
Lana was born and raised in San Antonio,
Texas, where she discovered volleyball at
the age of seven. Starting at the age of
eleven, Lana played club volleyball in San
Antonio and then later in the Dallas area.
Lana was a three-time letter winner in
volleyball and softball and three-time First
Team All-District winner in volleyball at
Irving High School. From 1994-1996, Lana
received Newcomer of the Year, Offensive
Player of the Year, and Most Valuable Player
in her district. Her senior year was capped
off with First Team All-Area recognition by
the Dallas Morning News and Fort Worth Star
Telegram, Most Valuable Player Tarrant
County-Forth Worth Star, and First Team
All-State.
Lana began her college volleyball career at
Nicholls State. After two years, Lana
transferred to Dallas Baptist University
where she received Honorable Mention
All-American honors for two years.
Lana was the head coach of Prestonwood
Christian Academy from 2002-2004 where they
had two playoff appearances. In 2003, PCA
was 3A TAPPS State Champions and Mitchell
received District coach of the year. In
2004-2005, Lana
coached at Hebron High School in Carrollton.
Hebron was the 4A State Champions and the
coaching staff received District Coaching
Staff of the Year.
Lana was married in July of 2001 to her
wonderful husband and fellow Victory coach,
Ryan Mitchell. Her son Reid was born on
April 7, 2005. Elijah Ryan was born on
January 30, 2007. The highlight of her life
is being a wife and mom in this growing
volleyball family.

Cathy Ray
Assistant Coach 14
Elite
Cathy Ray is starting her fifth year as the
head volleyball coach at Dallas Baptist
University .
In 2002, she started the season as
the graduated assistant and ending up taking
over for the NCCAA regional tournament.
Shortly after Cathy was named to head
coach.
While coaching for DBU, Cathy led the Lady
Patriots to their best season in history in
2007.
The Lady Patriots finished second in
conference with an 8-2 record and 18-16 in
overall play.
Cathy Ray came to DBU in the fall of 1998 as
a freshman from Red Oak High School.
While at DBU she played outside
hitter for the Lady Patriots leading her
team and conference in overall kills and
hitting percentage her senior year.
For her play, she received NAIA
Honorable Mention All-American and First
Team All Conference for the Red River
conference.
In 2000, she helped lead the Patriot
Volleyball team to the NAIA regional
championship finals.
While at DBU, Cathy elected to be a double
major in Communications and English
graduating with her BA in the fall of 2002.
She immediately went on to work on
her Masters in Teaching and started her
certification for teaching English/Language
Arts 8-12.
Cathy received her Masters in
Teaching in the fall of 2005.
Cathy also serves as the Academic Advisor
for Athletics and is in her first year as
the Senior Women Administer.

Stephanie Waller
Assistant Coach 14 Select
Having played with VICTORY for three years,
Stephanie joined the coaching staff in 2006.
Stephanie's coaching experience has included
the VICTORY Academy, clinics and camps for
Platinum Volleyball Solutions, and school
camps for children 8-12.
Stephanie has played
three years of varsity volleyball at Wylie
High School. As a sophomore, Stephanie was
named district Newcomer of the Year. She was
named first team All District in 2004 and
2005, and Co- MVP in 2005. Stephanie also
played club volleyball for five years.
Stephanie is currently a
Freshman on the Volleyball Team at The
University of Texas at Dallas.
Stephanie is excited to
coach for the club
where she learned the fundamentals that have
allowed her to enjoy great success at the
collegiate level.

Julie
Vordenbaum
Head Coach 14 PVS
Victory Leadership Team
Julie Vordenbaum brings twelve years of coaching volleyball to
our program. She is currently the Varsity
coach at
Prestonwood Christian
Academy and will coach our 14 and Under PVS
team. She began her career in her hometown of Wichita
Falls, TX where she coached 14s for three years with the Red
River Volleyball Club. Then, her senior year of college,
she took a break from club and started a volleyball program that
provided quality coaching for kids that were interested in
improving their skills, but for various reasons did not compete
in club. After moving to Dallas in 1999 following
graduation, she coached the 16's for Coppell Classic.
Following that she coached for three years with the Victory
Volleyball Club. In her second year with Victory, her team
(13 National) won a bid to nationals.
Julie
then coached with TEAM PSA for three
years where she qualified the 14's team in 2006-2007.
She lead that team to the
highest finish of any Texas team in their division at the Junior
Olympic Championships in Minneapolis, MN.
Julie is the founder and lead instructor for Platinum Volleyball
Solutions. For PVS,
she conducts various team camps, summer clinics and private
lessons. Julie was
named the PYSN Coach of the Month for October 2006 and her JV
Lady Cougars were the undefeated district champs in 2006.
Julie is IMPACT certified as well as USA CAP I certified.
She is finishing up her USAV CAP II certification. In
August, 2006 she completed the Gold Medal Squared clinic led by
USA Olympic National Team Assistant Coach Carl McGown, PHD.
Julie is a member of the USAV, Kids Sports Network, and AVCA.

Deja Sweeney
Assistant
Coach 14
PVS
Deja Sweeney
is entering her first year coaching for Victory. She is the
assistant coach for 14 PVS.
A native of
Sacramento, Sweeney started her volleyball career her freshman
year playing middle blocker for Natomas High School. Her
freshman and sophomore year she garnered MVP, California’s Best
Player and All-State honors. Following her last season, Sweeney
was tabbed as JCAVCA All-American and was ranked as the top
middle blocker in California. Deja signed with Baylor University
as an OH/DS.
Deja’s
coaching career began in high school where she volunteered with
Jesuit High School and the women’s club team at UC Davis. During
her first year in college, Deja coached the 14s Elite team for
Davis Volleyball Club. That year, her team finished top 20 in
Northern California and top 30 at the famed Davis Volleyball
Festival. At the same time, she was the director of the Capital
Athletic Club’s adult volleyball program where she organized
tournaments, practice nights and game nights. While at Baylor,
she volunteer coached for Waco Juniors and assisted coaching the
BU Men’s Club Volleyball team and was later assigned to the head
coach position. Deja is a recent graduate from Baylor
University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and currently
resides in Dallas.

Jim Stewart

Coach 14
PVS
Jim
Stewart is entering his fifth year of coaching youth volleyball
and his first year with Victory. He is currently the 7th Grade
D1 Head Coach at St. Mark Catholic School. He began his
career playing outdoor sand and grass tournaments and indoor
USVBA in the late 80’s. He was a setter and Club Vice
President on the Texas A&M Club Volleyball Team ’90 & ’91.
Jim is IMPACT certified and completed the Gold Medal
Squared clinic lead by USA Olympic National Team Assistant Coach
Carl McGown, PHD.
Jim will
again assist Julie Vordenbaum on Victory 14 PVS.
Last year at Team PSA, they compiled an impressive season
with many top finishes, including a 1st Place finish at the
American Volleyball Challenge, 2nd Place finish at the Far
Western National Qualifier in Reno, NV and cumulating with a
10th Place finish in the American Division at the Junior Olympic
Volleyball Championship in Minneapolis, MN.
Jim is married to his soul mate, Sandra and
has three children, two beautiful daughters and an adventurous
son. Jim’s daytime
job is Vice President of Titan Wealth Management.

Tony Vordenbaum
Head Coach 15 Elite
Victory Leadership
Team
Tony Vordenbaum is entering his
sixth year of coaching club
for Victory. Last season
he led 15 Elite to the J.O.'s National
Division, finishing 9th place overall.
His team ranked 1st out
of 86 teams in the NTX Region. During his coaching
career with Victory, Tony has coached
or assisted the elite teams in the 12's, 13's, 15's,
16's, 17's, and 18's age division. Every team in each age
division has qualified for the Junior
Olympic Volleyball Championships. Tony
served as the Physical Conditioning/Testing
Coordinator, as a roamer coach for the 15-18
teams; and has been involved with Victory
Academy and GetzFit
programs.
Last season Tony led the
setters development program and Victory
Beach. The beach teams in our 12-16 age
groups compiled five tournament wins, and
seven 2nd/3rd place finishes. Two teams
qualified for the USAV Beach Nationals.
Other
highlights include the 17s bid
to the Open Division,
the 16’s team took
1st at the Northeast Qualifier,
the 15's 3rd place
finish in the American Division at the JOs,
and the 13s qualifying for JO's during his
first year with Victory.
Tony
is USAV CAP II and VCAP (VCS) certified.
Tony and his wife run volleyball specific
conditioning/agility clinics, as well as
skill/position camps throughout the year.
His fulfillment and fervor for coaching
young athletes comes from helping them
develop and reach their full potential.
Tony played volleyball for the Texas
A&M Men's Volleyball Team as
the starting setter. As
the Captain of the Corps of Cadets
Volleyball Team, he led them to two
University Volleyball Championships. Upon
graduation Tony eventually settled back in
the North Dallas area and coached
men's
USAV prior to joining
Victory.
His favorite verse: "I can

Meredith is entering her
first season with
Victory.
She
played
volleyball at Klein Forest
High School in Klein TX
(outside of
Houston).
Meredith was All District Freshman
through Senior years, and
All District Academic Honors Freshman
through Senior years.
She
Attended Baylor
University, earned a double
major in Special Education and Physical
Education, and made the
Dean's List
1995-1996.
She went on to attend Texas State
University, completing her
Masters in Special Education, Cognate as an
Educational Diagnostician.
She
coached middle
school and high school volleyball for 8
years in Pflugerville ISD and Leander ISD
(outside Austin).
Meredith also
coached for Georgetown Volleyball
Club for past 10 years ages 14-16.
Meredith was born and
raised in Klein TX, has a dog named Madison
and hates chocolate. She is currently and
Educational Diagnostician for Frisco High
School, and is looking forward to settling
down in the DFW area.

Madlyn Craven

Select
Madlyn Craven is in her
second season with VICTORY.
Last season she assisted
the 13 Elite team. Prior to joining
Victory, she helped with summer volleyball
camps and provided
private lessons to girls ages 14-17.
Madlyn graduated from
White Oak High School in the top ten in her
class and lettered in volleyball 3 years.
She played middle blocker and received Most
Valuable Hitter, Academic All-State, 1st
Team All East Texas, and 1st Team All State,
throughout those 3 years. She played club
volleyball for Wrecking Crew and East Texas
Juniors.
Madlyn played her first two years of
volleyball at Texas Woman's University and
earned recognition of player of the week.
She is now playing her third season
at Dallas Baptist University and is a
Biology/Pre-Med major. Madlyn enjoys playing
volleyball, reading, working out, and
watching movies.

Lana was the head coach of Prestonwood
Christian Academy from 2002-2004 where they
had two playoff appearances. In 2003, PCA
was 3A TAPPS State Champions and Mitchell
received District coach of the year. In
2004-2005, Lana
coached at Hebron High School in Carrollton.
Hebron was the 4A State Champions and the
coaching staff received District Coaching
Staff of the Year.
Lana was married in July of 2001 to her
wonderful husband and fellow Victory coach,
Ryan Mitchell. Her son Reid was born on
April 7, 2005. Elijah Ryan was born on
January 30, 2007. The highlight of her life
is being a wife and mom in this growing
volleyball family.

Jill McCarty
Assistant Coach 16 Elite
Jill McCarty attended
high school at Garland Christian
Academy lettering four
years on the varsity volleyball team.
She received First Team All District
her junior and senior years and First Team
All State her senior year.
She also received Female Athlete of
the Year Award her junior year and
Volleyball MVP her senior year.
Jill played club volleyball for Texas
Assault for 3 years.
After graduating from high school, Jill
attended and played volleyball for
Ouachita
Baptist
University
(NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference), where she played
defensive specialist for 2 years and libero for 2 years.
Jill received honors while playing at OBU including All
Conference Academic Team, Defensive Player of the Year, and
Female Scholar Athlete Award.
Jill graduated from Ouachita Baptist
University in Spring 2004
with a degree in Biblical Studies and a minor in Greek.
She is married to Josh McCarty, and they live in
Fort Worth, TX.
Jill is currently in graduate school at the
University
of Texas at Arlington studying Linguistics and is working
part time at Starbucks. She also enjoys reading, camping, and
playing lots of sports.

Elite
Dave Phillip is entering
his first season with Victory.
Dave joins the Victory staff with 6
years of club and 5 years of high school
coaching experience.
Dave was in the class of 2001 from Texas
A&M
University with a double
BBA in Management Information Systems and
Logistics.
At A&M, Dave played on the Men’s Club
Volleyball team and assisted coaching with
the women’s club team.
Dave played both setter and libero
and also served as team captain.
His volleyball coaching
experience includes:

Dave grew up in
San Antonio,
TX.
During his high school years Dave
played football, basketball, track, tennis
and golf.
Currently, in his free time, Dave
enjoys playing volleyball, going to the
movies and sweating to the oldies with
Richard Simmons.

Lindsey Cox
Assistant Coach 17 Elite
Lindsey Cox is beginning her fourth year
with VICTORY, having served as an assistant
coach with 14 Elite, 16 Elite and 17 Elite.
She is currently the junior
varsity/assistant varsity volleyball coach
at Sachse High School. Prior to becoming a
juniors volleyball coach, Lindsey was the
graduate assistant coach at her alma mater,
Ouachita Baptist University (Division II,
Gulf South Conference).
Lindsey graduated from South Garland High
School, where she played outside hitter on
the varsity volleyball team for three years.
She received All-District and All-City
honors in both her junior and senior years.
After high school, Lindsey received a
scholarship to play volleyball at Ouachita
Baptist. She was an outside hitter at
Ouachita Baptist.
Lindsey graduated in May 2002 with her
Bachelor of Science in Education. She earned
a Masters degree in Sports Administration in
December 2005. Lindsey currently teaches
algebra at Sachse High
School. |

Shelley
Small
Head Coach 18 Elite
Victory
Leadership Team
With seventeen years of
coaching experience, Shelley Small rejoined
VICTORY Volleyball Club in 2006. Before
taking some time off, Shelley coached the
18s for VICTORY and was the Assistant
Director. Her club volleyball experience
also includes coaching travel teams with
Colorado Springs Juniors, Mid-Cities,
North Dallas, and Texas
Advantage.
Shelley grew up in the
Mid-Cities area and attended L.D.
Bell
High School in Hurst, where she lettered
in volleyball and basketball. She was named
to the All-District volleyball teams as a
sophomore, junior, and senior, and led her
teams to district, bi-district, and area
titles. She was voted Hitter of the Year in
the area and was named Dallas Morning News
Hitter of the Year as a senior. She was
named to the Texas State High School Coaches
West All-Star Team after her senior year.
Shelley then earned a scholarship to
Baylor
University as one of the
top two hitters in the state of
Texas.
At Baylor, Shelley was
voted Rookie of the Year her freshman year
and was also selected to the All-Southwest
Conference team. She was Baylor's team
