What does it mean to "LIVE TO WIN"?

LIVE TO WIN…
Does this mean to win at all costs?
Does this mean that winning volleyball matches is all that matters?
Does this mean to live life focused only on personal achievements and success?

Winning, Volleyball, Success, Achieving goals: these things are all good. But Jesus tells us that there is more to life.

In the Bible, throughout the New Testament, Jesus teaches a principle about life: “So the last will be first, and the first will be last." (Matthew 20:16) Additionally, in Mark 10:43-45 Jesus says: “…Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

So what does this mean for my life, for your life, for VICTORY Volleyball Club?

The common definition for winning, particularly in the context of volleyball, means to be first -- to win a game or a match or a tournament. But what does it mean to win in life? Jesus turned everything upside-down when he taught that self-sacrifice and love define winning. In other words, a winning life is a life focused on loving God and loving people.

How amazing that the son of God, Jesus Christ, came to earth as the perfect example of living to win! As the above scripture states, he did not come to be served, but to serve, and ultimately, he gave his life as the pinnacle example of love and self-sacrifice.

Victory Volleyball Club was founded eight seasons ago with a unique mission. Our goal was to provide an environment where Christian coaches (coaches who have personally placed their faith in Jesus Christ) would use their volleyball talents to honor God. We desire to live our lives as an example for others. Will you join us in living your life “upside-down?" Will you set aside selfishness and pride and live your life focused on loving God and loving people? This doesn’t come naturally, and won’t always be easy, but the rewards are priceless. God will be glorified. Let’s LIVE TO WIN!!
