Alex Guzman

12 Elite Gray Head Coach

Alex is entering her 7th year coaching with Victory and her 9th year with the club. She moved to Plano 12 years ago from Puerto Rico and started playing volleyball at 6. Once she was settled in Plano, she played for 8 consecutive seasons as a Setter for top teams in the region, qualified 7 of them for Nationals, and in her last two years, she played for Victory. She played school volleyball since 7th grade and to JV and Varsity at Plano West Senior High School; in her Junior year, they finished Undefeated District Champs. Her dedication, love, and commitment allowed her to be team captain and receive leadership and team player awards. She was also invited for 2 consecutive years to the USA Volleyball High-Performance Girls Select Training Camp. Alex has coached all ages at Victory and has qualified once for Nationals as a coach in the 2020-2021 season.

She graduated in May of 2020 from Texas Woman’s University with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, hoping to become a Pediatric Physical Therapist in the future. She is now in school getting her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. During her time at TWU, she got the opportunity to intern at EXOS, which is a training facility for elite professional athletes. At TWU, Alex played intramural indoor and sand volleyball. Her favorite thing about playing volleyball is the life lessons and all the friends that she has made. “When I am coaching the girls, I hope to give them a good representation of the life lessons they will learn to become strong young women in the future. I also hope to become a good role model so they can see where volleyball takes them.”
