Alex Guzman


Alex is entering her 3rd year coaching with Victory. Alex moved to Plano 10 years ago from Puerto Rico. She started playing Volleyball at the age of 6 and once she was settled in Plano, she played for 8 consecutive seasons as a Setter for top teams in the region, qualified 7 of them for Nationals and her last two years she played for Victory. She played school volleyball since 7th grade and played all the way to JV and Varsity at Plano West Senior High School; where her Junior year they finished Undefeated District Champs. Her dedication, love and commitment gave her the opportunity to be team captain, received leadership and team player awards. She was invited 2 consecutive years to the USA High-Performance Girls Select Training Camp.

She will be entering into her senior year at Texas Woman’s University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, in hopes of becoming a Pediatric Physical Therapist in the future. At TWU, Alex plays intramurals indoor and sand volleyball. She enjoys working with kids and has worked volleyball camps for 4 consecutive years at a local sports summer camp. Alex’s favorite thing about playing volleyball is the life lessons and all the friends that she made. “When I am coaching the girls, I hope to give them a good the life lessons that they need to become strong, young women for the future. I am also hoping to become a good role model for them so they can see where volleyball can take them.”
