Katie Krebs

Katie is a recent graduate from the University of Houston with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. She was a setter for UH’s volleyball team for all four years, and was a team captain her senior season. She earned All-Conference Academic Team, tournament MVP, and American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll honors throughout her career. Her senior year, she helped lead the Cougars to their best start to a season since 1987. She was an active member in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and served on the executive board and as a leader, respectively.

Katie is a Dallas native, and grew up in Flower Mound, Texas.  She started playing volleyball in seventh grade, and made it up to the Varsity team for Flower Mound High School her senior year. That year she helped Flower Mound win its first District Championship in school history. She also led the DFW area in aces per set, and received 1st Team All-District honors. Katie played most of her club career at Texas Advantage Volleyball, where she helped her 15’s team get 9th place at the AAU National Tournament. She played at Victory her 17’s year under Steve Collins, and Excel her 18’s year.

Katie moved back to the Dallas area post-grad, and is currently working as an engineer at Raytheon Technologies. While this will be her first season of coaching, she has plenty of experience through working multiple camps and clinics throughout her college career. She credits volleyball for teaching her many of life’s most valuable lessons, such as: time-management, leadership, and perseverance. Once she stopped playing volleyball competitively, she knew she wanted to get into coaching so that she could help her girls become the best they can be not only on the court, but off the court as well.
