Taylor Martinez

Taylor is new to Victory for the 2020-2021 season and has been coaching volleyball since 2011. She works as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. Taylor grew up in San Antonio, Texas where she started playing volleyball when she was 11 years old. She attended The University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas where she obtained her first bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and played collegiate volleyball.

After retiring from playing competitive volleyball in 2011, Taylor started her first coaching job as an assistant varsity coach for John Paull II High School in Plano, Texas.  During her two years of coaching high school volleyball, she helped inspire and improve high school athletes who later achieved their dreams of playing collegiate volleyball. Taylor has experience in training athletes ages 4 to 18, and she has served in both head and assistant coaching roles. Taylor specializes in the setting position and has supervised athletes in a variety of settings including clinics, camps, and private lessons.

Taylor enjoys playing sand volleyball, spending time with her husband and three English bulldogs, and has a passion for Christ. She loves coaching and inspiring young athletes to achieve their fullest potential on the court, in life, and in their faith.

Taylor’s favorite scripture: “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34 (NIV)
