Kella Smith

I grew up in a small town outside of Houston, Cleveland TX. I grew up playing softball, basketball and started playing volleyball when I was 12. I was on varsity at Northeast Christian Academy for 2 years. During those two years I was also playing club ball at Thunder Volleyball and TCA. I transferred to Houston Christian my junior year to have a better opportunity at hopefully playing in College. After playing on varsity for a year I started experiencing burn out and ended up not playing volleyball my senior year. Instead I joined choir and had a small part in the musical. I attended Mississippi College and rediscovered my love for volleyball by playing intramural. I graduated Cum Laude in 2019 with a bachelors degree in Interior Design and moved to Dallas. Once moving to Dallas I discovered different volleyball leagues and attended open gyms around the area. After the pandemic shut down I started job searching and was able to start coaching at First Baptist Academy. I’m currently coaching and teaching Elementary art at FBA.
